The foundation of E-Consulting Network is not just its varied ability to target multiple markets. E-Consulting Network also has a solid affiliate program. They offer excellent reselling options for the professional looking to offer online marketing as part of its arsenal.

Companies are gathering, analyzing, and storing more data than ever before. Cloud computing offers a convenient, cost-effective way to manage data, so it?s not wonder that increasing numbers of organizations are switching from costly on-site servers to remote servers. Typically, a firm can experience increased bandwidth with a cloud storage solution ? meaning that the \?big data\? that today?s organizations demand can be more easily accessed.

Any reputable IT consulting company will either have a consulting services agreement on hand or should not object to signing the contract you produce, once it is reviewed and agreed upon. IT consulting contracts are essential prior to entering into any type of business relationship with the company. This agreement will define the terms of the relationship between you and the consultant.

The businesses are using different technology solutions to a great extent for minimizing risk factors by securing their data and reducing their man-power efforts. Use encryption on sensitive data ? as an added precaution, you should use encryption systems for data that you have to store in your computers. This is so in case the files got stolen, the data is still unreadable for the third parties.

Companies that cannot afford an IT manager often try to handle the work themselves by allowing another manager to take over the duties. However, a manager who is experienced in sales or human resources may not have the necessary skills to keep a network of computers up and running. Furthermore, attempting to run old software can lead to more problems and headaches for the staff.

The big question they often ask is, ?Cant I adjust it later?? The answer in most cases is no. Background: This section is usually the first section of the proposal.

Scientists shed light on glowing materials

ScienceDaily (Aug. 20, 2012) ? Researchers at King's College London, in collaboration with European research institutes ICFO (Barcelona) and AMOLF (Amsterdam), have succeeded in mapping how light behaves in complex photonic materials inspired by nature, like iridescent butterfly wings. Scientists have broken the limit of light resolution at the nanoscale and delivered a fundamental insight into how light and matter interact, which could lead to the development of enhanced bio-sensors for healthcare and more efficient solar cells and displays.

Optical measurements of light waves at the nanoscale have always been limited by the resolution of the optical microscope, but researchers were able to break this limit using a new technique which combines electronic excitation and optical detection, to explore the inside of a photonic crystal and study the confinement of light. Working with a spatial resolution of 30 nanometers, scientists examined the structures at a resolution more than ten times smaller than the diffraction limit for light, revealing a greater understanding of how light interacts with matter to create, for example, the visible iridescence phenomena observed in nature on the wings of butterflies.

Dr Riccardo Sapienza, from the Department of Physics at King's, said: 'We were thrilled in the lab to observe the finer details of the photonic crystals that were simply inaccessible before. This is very important as it allows scientists to test optical theories to a new level of accuracy, fully characterise new optical materials and test new optical devices.'

The collaborative research is published August 19 in the journal Nature Materials.

The team constructed an artificial two-dimensional photonic crystal by etching a hexagonal pattern of holes in a very thin silicon nitride membrane. Photonic crystals are nanostructures in which two materials with different refractive indices are arranged in a regular pattern, giving rise to exotic optical properties. Natural photonic crystals can be found in certain species of butterflies, birds and beetles as well as in opal gemstones where they give rise to beautiful shimmering colours.

The photonic crystal inhibits light propagation for certain colours of light, which leads to strong reflection of those colours, as observed when such materials 'catch the light'. By leaving out one hole, a very small cavity can be defined where the surrounding crystal acts as a mirror for the light, making it possible to strongly confine it within a so-called 'crystal defect cavity'.

The scientists based their research methods on a technique used in geology, called cathodoluminescence, whereby a beam of electrons is generated by an electron gun and impacted on a luminescent material, causing the material to emit visible light. Professor Albert Polman and his group in AMOLF modified this technique to access nanophotonics materials. He said: 'In the past few years we have worked hard with several technicians and researchers to develop and refine this new instrument.'

Dr Sapienza said: 'Each time a single electron from the electron gun reaches the sample surface it generates a burst of light as if we had placed a fluorescent molecule at the impact location. Scanning the electron beam we can visualise the optical response of the nanostructure revealing features 10 times smaller than ever done before.'

Professor Niek van Hulst, ICFO, said: 'It is fascinating to finally have an immediate view of the light in all its colours inside a photonic crystal. For years we have been struggling with scanning near-field probes and positioning of nano-light-sources. Now the scanning e-beam provides a local broad-band dipolar light source that readily maps all localised fields inside a photonic crystal cavity.'

With major advances in nanofabrication techniques it has become possible to construct artificial photonic crystals with optical properties that can be accurately engineered. These structures can be used to make high-quality nanoscale optical waveguides and cavities, which are important in telecommunication and sensing applications.

Dr Sapienza said: 'Our research provides a fundamental insight into light at the nanoscale and, in particular, helps in understanding how light and matter interact. This is the key to advance nanophotonic science and it can be useful to design novel optical devices like enhanced bio-sensors for healthcare, more efficient solar cells and displays, or novel quantum optics and information technologies.'

Ukraine prosecutor urges court to uphold Tymoshenko guilt

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukrainian state prosecutors urged a high court on Tuesday to reject the appeal of jailed ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko against her conviction for abuse of office, a case Western leaders have condemned as politically motivated.

Judges later withdrew to consider their decision which opposition figures and defense lawyers, anxious for a quick ruling, expected to be announced only in mid-September. Tymoshenko is serving a seven-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors argued that Tymoshenko's guilt had been clearly established at her trial last year. The abuse of office conviction relates to a gas deal which Tymoshenko, 51, brokered with Russia in 2009 when she was prime minister.

The government of President Viktor Yanukovich says the agreement was reckless and saddled the former Soviet republic with an enormous price for strategic supplies of gas which is now taking a toll on the heavily-stressed economy.

Tymoshenko, who is receiving treatment for back trouble in a state-run clinic in the city of Kharkiv and was not present at the appeal hearing, denies betraying the national interest. She says she is the victim of a vendetta by Yanukovich, who narrowly beat her for the presidency in February 2010.

Her prosecution, which has damaged Ukraine's relations with the European Union and the United States, will be a major issue in legislative elections on October 28 when Yanukovich's Party of the Regions will seek to keep its control of parliament.

When the appeal hearing resumed on Tuesday, state prosecutor Oksana Drogobytskaya said Tymoshenko was guilty of a crime which had had serious consequences.

"During the investigation ... the intentional nature of her actions had been established. Everything points to the fact that the actions of Tymoshenko were criminal," she said. "The (gas) contract continues to inflict massive damage on Ukraine."

Drogobytskaya said Tymoshenko had heaped personal abuse on the judge at her trial last year and she accused defense lawyers of trying to turn the appeal hearing into a "talk show".

Tymoshenko's lawyers last week argued in court that negotiating the gas agreement with Russia had been a political act which did not amount to criminal action.

Western governments have called for Tymoshenko's release.

But, with the October election on the horizon, the Yanukovich leadership has shown no signs of freeing Tymoshenko and authorities are instead piling up other charges against her.

In a separate trial, which has been adjourned several times because of her back trouble, she is accused of embezzlement and tax evasion going back to alleged offences when she was in business in the 1990s.

EUROPEAN COURT

Tymoshenko's defense counsel, Serhiy Vlasenko, told reporters he expected the judges to announce their findings between September 11-13.

The political opposition prefers a quick clear-cut decision on Tymoshenko's appeal well before the election in order to take it to the European Court of Human Rights, if need be.

Arseniy Yatseniuk, who has taken over at the helm of the united opposition in the absence of Tymoshenko, said that he feared a decision would be slow in coming.

"The process is complicated for us because we need to pass on the papers (from the appeal) to a fair court, the European Court of Human Rights. We know that there is a fair court in Europe," Yatseniuk told reporters outside the Kiev court.

Tymoshenko was a leader of the 2004 Orange Revolution protests that derailed Yanukovich's first bid for the presidency, but failed to produce a strong unified government.

Since Yanukovich defeated her in the election, some of her opposition allies have also faced corruption-related charges.

In the political fall-out from her prosecution, the European Union shelved agreements on political association and free trade with Ukraine, while the United States has also criticized the court action against her as politically motivated.

General Motors, Isuzu Recall 258000 SUVs After 28 Fires Reported

Chevy and Isuzu Fire Recall

General Motors and Isuzu in Canada and the United States have issued a recall for more than 258,000 SUVs after short-circuits in power window and door locks led to 28 reports of fire.

The recall notice affects several different models of SUV from the 2006 and 2007 model years including the?Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 97-X.

No known injuries have been reported at this time.

According to officials at General Motors, the problem occurs in states and provinces where salt and other chemicals are used to clear roads in the winter. As fluid from the road clearing chemicals get inside the vehicles door, they can cause corrosion to the power-window and door-switch circuit board, causing short-circuits, broken switches, and ultimately fire.

A document posted by the National Highways Transporation Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Saturday revealed that the power-window switch will be replaced for free by dealers. Letters will be sent out to customers to make them aware of the issue, and, while the vehicles were registered for sale in 20 states and several provinces, GM has promised to honor recalls in other non-registered states.

The TrailBlazer was one of the best selling SUVs in American before it was phased out in 2009 and replaced with more efficient crossover models such as the Chevy Traverse and GMS Acadia.

General Motors also manufactured the Isuzu Ascender and was responsible for Saab SUV?s when they were still being built.

Customers can call their local dealers to setup a repair time for the faulty window switch.
